What a wonderful slogan for this year’s Bitef festival! It may represent and symbolize so many things, therefore I chose it as the title of today’s playlist. If you didn’t manage already, I recommend you to check out the schedule of the forthcoming Bitef, maybe not so focused on the music, but surely you will find something to enjoy.
Today’s playlist starts with Beti Đorđević (who will have a free concert September 26th during this year’s Bitef), because anything else would not make sense 🙂After well-known Beti, and then, Ella Fitzgerald, playlist continues with a sequence of awesome female artists, such as Mabiland, a Columbian singer who will shake you out of your mind, with unheard and amazing fusion of genres; then Daymé Arocena, Afro-Cuban jazz singer from Havana, who is only 24 years old, but is considered the best young artist from Cuba for a couple of years already, or Akua Naru who is nothing but an extraordinary hip-hop/MC artist. I know, women are leading this playlist, and I believe that won’t matter to you when you hear their voices 🙂The playlist also incorporates KUKLA, a singer from Slovenia which is definitely different from anything you can hear in our region, so I gave her a chance, maybe someone would fancy her distinct style of singing and interpretation 🙂Last but not least I would like to mention new and young band from Belgrade, “Paper Animals”, who will soon publish their debut album “Rocker Paper Scissors”, because great young artists always need our support 🙂
A lot of new things, take thrills of the things you love 🙂Enjoy!
